FASHION IN EVERYDAY LIFE

Bhadro's fashion draped in autumn's pristine glow

A raft of clouds in the sky, a fair of joy in the mind, calm and serene Bhadro seems to bring a message of arrival.

In the month of Bhadro, the weather in Bangladesh remains quite warm and humid. At this time, on the one hand, there is sultry heat, and on the other hand, there may be occasional showers. Therefore, it is important to keep a few things in mind for comfortable clothing:

Types of clothing:

Cotton: Cotton clothing is the most comfortable for the month of Bhadro. Cotton fabric easily absorbs sweat and helps air circulation, keeping the body cool. Thin cotton fabric is especially suitable during this time.

Linen: Linen fabric is also very comfortable and light. It also allows good air circulation.

Georgette and chiffon: In some cases, you may wear light fabrics like georgette or chiffon, especially if you are attending an event where cotton clothing is not suitable. However, these cannot absorb sweat like cotton.

Khadi: As khadi fabric is a poor conductor of heat, it helps keep the body cool in warm weather.

Design and colours of clothing:

Choose light colours such as white, cream, light green, sky blue, lavender, pastel, light pink or other light-coloured clothes. Dark or black colours absorb more heat from the sun, making it feel warm, so it is better to avoid these.

Instead of tight clothing, choose loose-fitting clothes.

This will allow better air circulation and reduce discomfort.

During this time, you can wear T-shirts, fatua, kurti or thin cotton salwar kameez. In the case of sarees, printed cotton sarees, block or batik cotton sarees can be comfortable. For blouses, short sleeves will give comfort.

Some extra tips:

Cleanliness: Since there is a lot of sweating at this time, it is important to always keep clothes clean and dry.

During the sultry heat of Bhadro, your main aim in choosing clothing should be comfort and ease.

Types of shoes:

Since the month of Bhadro is more humid and sudden rain may occur, it is better to choose comfortable and practical shoes.

Sandals: Open sandals are the best for the month of Bhadro. These reduce the problem of sweating. Flat sandals, strappy sandals or simple slippers are quite comfortable at this time.

Slides or flip-flops are very useful for staying at home or going somewhere nearby. These are easy to wear and keep the feet open.

If you must wear closed shoes somewhere, you can choose canvas shoes. Since these are made of cotton, they allow more air circulation than other synthetic shoes. However, if they get wet in the rain, they take time to dry.

Crocs are a very good option for rainy days or wet environments. As they are made of plastic, they are easy to clean if they get wet and dry quickly.

It is better to avoid leather shoes at this time, as they may get damaged in the rain and can be uncomfortable in the heat. If you must wear them, then choose ones that are water-resistant.

Heavy shoes can increase discomfort at this time. So, choose lightweight shoes.

As roads can get slippery due to rain, make sure the sole of the shoe is anti-slip.

Easy to clean: Since there is a possibility of mud and water, choose shoes that can be cleaned easily.

When selecting shoes according to the weather in Bhadro, both comfort and practicality are important.

Make-up:

Keeping the weather in mind, here are some tips for doing make-up in the month of Bhadro:

In Bhadro, both heat and humidity are high, so it is important to keep a few things in mind when doing make-up. At this time, you should choose such make-up that is light, does not melt easily, and does not damage the skin.

It is better to avoid heavy foundation during this time. Instead, you may use lightweight compact powder or matte finish foundation. This will prevent the skin from looking greasy and avoid the risk of make-up melting with sweat.

Try to use waterproof kajal, eyeliner, mascara—these will not be ruined by sudden rain or sweat.

Instead of cream blush, you may use powder blush, as it sets well on the skin. For lips, choose matte lipstick or long-lasting lipstick. Glossy lipstick may feel a bit uncomfortable at this time.

Using primer before starting make-up will help it last longer. After finishing, using setting spray is very important, as it sets the make-up and prevents it from being ruined by sweat.

You may use light shades of eyeshadow or just kajal and liner on the eyes. The lighter the make-up is during the day, the more comfortable it will be.

Before applying make-up, cleanse the skin well and apply moisturiser. After finishing make-up, always remove it properly and keep the skin clean.

These tips can be quite effective for comfortable and long-lasting make-up during the heat of Bhadro.
